My Story
In 2020, the year that changed everything for all of us, I took the plunge and did something I’d been wanting to do forever - made my passion my career and launched this business as my full time career! I’d been planning this for a while, it just so happened the date I had planned for happened to be in the middle of a pandemic.
My love of art started from a young age, I entered a county primary school collage competition to create the best collage made out of torn up newspaper pages and I won! The prize was a life size cutout of Aladdin (I loved it - my Mother did not!), but in that moment I realised I was a creative person and a love of art was born.
Throughout school I loved (and like to think I excelled) in art, though due to personal circumstances I did not take it through to art school. Instead I spent over a decade working in creative marketing and graphic design roles while drawing and painting as much as I could in my spare time. Friends would ask me to do pet portraits for them and I knew this was something I wanted to pursue full time. After the birth of my second child, I took the plunge and Felicity Franks Portraits was born!
I work from a studio at my home in Somerset creating pastel pet portraits from digital photographs.
I use the highest quality materials to ensure your artwork will last for many years to come.
I love to know a little about the subject I’m drawing so I can try and convey this in the drawing or painting. There’s nothing more lasting than a portrait of a beloved pet. Portraits make incredible gifts for a Birthday or Christmas and I will work with you throughout the process to choose the best photo and make creating your portrait a special experience for you. I genuinely love what I do and I think this is conveyed in the finished painting - a lot of love goes into my work.
I really hope I can work with you to create something amazing, thank you for having a look through my website (and reading this far)!
