Step one - send me an email via my contact page if you’re thinking of commissioning a portrait, I can discuss your portrait with you and let you know current timeframes.
Step two - if you’re happy with the timescales I require a 30% deposit to secure your place on my waiting list - this can be paid by PayPal or bank transfer - I can send you the details and a reference code via email.
Step three - look out some great digital photographs, or take some new ones! Reference photos need to be close up, preferably with lots of natural light so I can clearly see and zoom in on the details of your loved one. The better the reference photo is, the better the painting/drawing will be, otherwise the finished product can end up looking blurred without detail, which neither of us want! Let me know your child or pets name and some aspects of their personality as it really helps to convey more of them in the portrait.
Step four - send your favourite photos over to me, once I’m at a place where I can start on your portrait, I will assess which photo will look best in your chosen medium and work on a potential layout for multiple subjects. I’ll send you a proposed layout and once you’re happy I will begin your portrait.
Step five - I will keep you updated on my progress and send you a photograph of your finished portrait to check, if anything needs changing at this point I will happily change it for you. Once the portrait is completed and you are satisfied I will ask for the final payment of the remaining 70%, plus a postage and packaging fee for your location (an amount I will inform you of when you book).
Step six - once your balance has been paid I will post your portrait to you. I would love to know when it’s arrived safely with you and to see it up in your home.
